Makeover television programme makes use of LR cosmetics and Aloe Vera
Reality television has become a big favourite with the viewing public. Ordinary people putting themselves in the public eye is fascinating to watch. There have been an array of programmes, some of which have made ordinary people into celebrities. One of the first reality television programmes to hit our screens was big brother, where 12 contestants, all with different personalities are locked in a house for three months, with no television, no modern conveniences such as washing machines and Hoovers. Throughout the 12 weeks they are asked to do various tasks in order win food and luxuries, then once a week they are asked to put two names up for eviction. Eventually it comes down to the final four who are left on eviction night, and the viewing public votes for their winner. Wife Swap is another reality TV show where two wife’s swap homes and lives for two weeks. Makes for good viewing but has been known to cause rifts between contestants.Makeover programmes have also become really popular one television, showing peoples amazing transformations. Some of the make over shows simply change the contestants hair, make up and clothing, other make over shows are more radical and use cosmetic surgery in order to smooth out wrinkles and enhance assets. 10 years younger is a make up show which takes two women, both of whom look much older than their years. They stand the two contestants in the middle of a busy shopping area, and ask passers by to comment on how old they believe them to be. It is then the shows mission to make the contestant look 10 years younger (hence the name of the show). One of the contestants is taken down the cosmetic surgery root, and the other is given alternatives to cosmetic surgery. Both of the contestants are given a new hairstyle, image and make-up. At the end of the show they are put back in front of the public, who are then asked for a second time to guess the age of the contestant, they usually come out a good 10 years younger, but whoever gets the most amount of years knocked off is the winner.

As for the television presenters who host the shows, they too need a good amount of make-up applied, in order to keep them looking good in front of the camera. Cosmetic ranges such as LR and Aloe Vera are often used
